ROUNDERS: Swan Ladies A grabbed the first division headlines as they claimed their first points of the season with a narrow 114-98 victory over fellow strugglers Redvales.

The division's top two sides also claimed further victories, Fishpool A and Elton Vale B both managing innings defeats St. Mary's A and Unsworth CC respectively.

Ramsbottom Ladies and Ainsworth A were the other first division winners last week.

Division Two leaders, Roach Ladies, were again successful, but both Bury Felt A and St. Mary's C keep them under pressure with wins of their own, leaving them trailing the leaders by just two points.

Division Three leaders, All Rounders A, maintained their 100 per cent start, but not without a tough fight as Fishpool B took them all the way at Goshen.

Limefield and Tottington A are currently tied for second spot, both having further wins this week.

Redvales Derby A and Tottington C eased their relegation troubles with wins that now see them both in mid-table and with an outside interest in second place come the end of the season.

Elton CC came back from Maccabi last Tuesday with a tenth straight win of the season, 155-214, but they only have a two point advantage over Elton Youth, whose own result this week was a convincing innings win over the struggling Peelers.

Two more of the division's strugglers came up trumps this week, with both Walshaw Ladies and Elton Vale D recording narrow victories which helped with their attempts to climb away from the bottom.

Division Five produced big winning margins in all five games.

This competition looks to have three way battles at both ends of the table.

The top two sides in Division Six came head to head at Close park last Wednesday and at the end of the game, leaders Sunset Ladies still had their unbeaten start but perhaps more importantly they now hold a four point advantage from Boots Ladies, who themselves are being chased hard by Exodus who won by an innings margin from Phoenix, who are still searching for a first win of the season.

Georgies Angels, Michael Woods Homes and Brocks X1 Juniors were all winners again this week.

What proved to be the week's biggest surprise came in Division Seven where previously unbeaten leaders, Elton Vale E, surrendered that start when Laundry Room scored a convincing win at Bolton Road West park 208-96.

Westbury now join them on top of the table after an away win at Goshen over Elton Youth B.

The night's other winners were All Rounders B, Linden Ladies and Westdene.
