Axe attack on teenager

POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager was attacked with an axe in a Bury park.

The 18-year-old victim suffered wounds to his back and head when he was attacked by a gang in Manchester Road Park yesterday (Friday) afternoon.

His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Four men believed to have been involved in the attack were seen getting into a red Volkswagon Golf.

Police were called to the park shortly before 2pm.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or who has information about what happened, to come forward.
